Why Tinubu can’t make Nigeria great – PDP chieftain

Dr Nwachukwu Anekwenze

A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and former Presidential aspirant of the party, Chief Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze, has expressed hopelessness in the ability of President Bola Tinubu-led administration to take Nigeria to its desired greatness.

Anakwenze who bemoaned the inability of President Tinubu’s government to demonstrate leadership capacity in the last 100 days in office, while reacting to the recently celebrated 63 Independence anniversary, regretted that past and present leaders had failed to put the country on the path of economic greatness and infrastructural growth after it gained her independence from Great Britain.

The PDP Chieftain however criticized the policy thrusts of the Tinubu-led administration, insisting that the All Progressives Congress-controlled Federal Government had escalated the economic hardships facing the Nigerian populace over its continuous implementation and imposition of draconian policies on the ordinary citizenry.

According to him, the current administration’s draconian policies have failed to make positive impacts in collective efforts to deepen democracy in every facets of the country, condemning the economic downturn, infrastructural decadence, insecurity and increased unemployment rates ravaging Nigeria.

The PDP chieftain who maintained that citizens opportuniny to assume political leadership of the country had failed to show capacity towards addressing myriads of challenges besetting the country in the last 63 years, Anakwenze, maintained that nothing meaningful will happen under the present Tinubu administration.

“The administration just started and I have not seen any results in past hundred days in office of the present government in Nigeria.

“We’re not going anywhere. Tinubu is not qualified to be President. The conductor of the bus he is driving are thieves. So they’re going to drive Nigeria to no man’s land and rob them blind,” he opined.

“We had not been able to bring out the best people to lead Nigeria.

“The worst people have been the ones leading Nigeria. And that is why they’re going backward.

“Remember, we’re at the same level as China and India when they got Independence. China and India have done well, Nigeria has failed. We have worst people in leading the country

“There’s no investment on youths and young people. God has blessed us with everything we can give to anybody.

“We have oil, gas, gold and diamond. We have beans, rice, cocoa, cassava, everything you need.

“The worst people are the leaders of this country since independence to now. If you’ve the right people in leadership, Nigeria would become a major world power and we will have full employment,” he said.
