This was made known by the Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Development Affairs, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun on Friday during the weekly preaching session for women at the ministry in Gusau.

She urged women in the state to design perfect paths for their children through decent upbringings to avoid joining notorious gangs, according to Daily Post.

The commission’s boss opined that women can build or destroy the future of their children, pointing out that the way and manner women bring up their children will reflect on their lives.

She urged women to apply discipline as a corrective measure in their children’s upbringings, stressing that the government was mindful of the roles played by women in nation-building.

She added that no responsible government will treat the development of women and children with a mere wave of hand.

Maradun maintained that the state government will give special consideration to women and children for social and economic development due to the persisting socioeconomic hardship.

“The present government has made adequate arrangements for women and children in the state so they can enjoy the dividends of democracy”, she said.
